Digital Wave chosen to produce documentary for the Bureau of Land Management

Portland, OR, January 15, 2008 - Digital Wave was recently chosen to produce a documentary for the Montana Bureau of Land Management. The BLM manages the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, which contains a rich history of settlers in the area. They sought out a production company that could tell the story of those settlers and found Digital Wave.

In the early 20th century, homesteaders began moving into the Upper Missouri River Breaks area. The land and the opportunity to homestead there was a source of hope and inspiration for early settlers. People flooded to the Breaks between 1900 and 1920 to take up dry-land farming and cattle, horse and sheep ranching. While searching for an easier, more prosperous life, many settlers found it challenging to endure the hardships of the land. The BLM hired Digital Wave to bring that rich history to life for current visitors to the Upper Missouri River.

³Digital Wave is excited to be telling the story of the people that homesteaded in the Upper Missouri River Breaks and we look forward to working with BLM to make that story come to life,² says Digital Wave President, Wayne Paige.

The project is currently in the pre-production and research stages. The Digital Wave team will head to Montana and the Breaks region this summer to capture interviews and other footage for the documentary.

Digital Wave also looks forward to working with fellow OMPA member Boone Johnson of Aural Produce to compose original music for the epic piece.
